Welcome to Stone Hill School
“Words cannot completely convey the happy feel of our school.”
On behalf of the governors, staff and pupils, may I take this opportunity to warmly welcome you to Stone Hill and our Post 16; a school and sixth form for children with special educational needs. I, as headteacher, am proud to be a part of a hardworking, thoughtful and driven team of people who work hard to ensure that the pupils of Stone Hill always benefit from high expectations and an educational experience that meets the needs of the individuals that attend school.
Words cannot completely convey the happy feel of our school. When you visit, you will see what school life is like. We enjoy learning how to learn in a lower school that is modelled on a primary setting and quality first teaching. The pupils then transition to upper school, based on the quality model of a secondary setting, and enjoy using the skills they have learned in order to access a range of qualifications. Quality first teaching and determined individuals ensure that all opportunities are taken, readying pupils for the Post-16 stage of their education. Stone Hill’s Post 16 is accessible for young people that are ready to take the next steps towards being self-reliant, have the skills for travelling independently and be inspired to be employable; building on their Level 1 qualifications.
Forest schools, employability opportunities and learning skills for life become a part of the curriculum offer. Individuals achieving is our collective aim.
Without the heart, there can be no understanding between the hand and the mind.
